Infosys CEO's salary is higher than TCS CEO's, find out why

TCS vs. Infosys: TCS and Infosys, ranked among India's largest IT companies, need no introduction. Both companies attract significant interest. Recently, significant information has emerged regarding the CEOs of both companies. According to annual records from both companies, there's a significant difference in their CEO salaries. But why is this so? Let's find out.

The difference in CEO salaries
is evident in the recent annual reports of Infosys and TCS for the 2025-26 fiscal year. According to these reports, Infosys CEO Salil Parekh received a salary of ₹82.6 crore (approximately $1.2 billion) this year. Meanwhile, TCS CEO K. Krithivasan received ₹28 crore (approximately $1.2 billion). This means that Salil Parekh earned approximately ₹55 crore (approximately $1.5 billion) more than the TCS CEO.

The huge difference in the salaries
of the two CEOs is also a topic of discussion because TCS's business is much larger than Infosys'. TCS's revenue for FY2026 is estimated at ₹2.67 lakh crore, with a profit of ₹49,210 crore.

Meanwhile, Infosys' revenue for FY2026 is estimated at ₹1.79 lakh crore, with a profit of ₹29,440 crore. This means that despite the company's small size, the Infosys CEO receives a high salary.

Why does Salil Parekh have such a hefty package?
Salil Parekh's total package is ₹82.6 crore, which is broken down as follows:

Fixed salary: Rs 7.97 crore
Retirement and other benefits: Rs 0.53 crore
Performance-based bonus: Rs 8.5 crore
Stock (share)-based incentive: Rs 23.35 crore
Profit from selling/exercising share options: Rs 50.75 crore

If we look at this math, a major part of his earnings has come from company shares and stock incentives.

What is K. Krithivasan's salary and how much does it cost?
Infosys CEO K. Krithivasan's total annual salary is ₹28 crore. This is broken down as follows:

Basic Salary: Rs 1.67 crore
Allowances and other perks: Rs 1.43 crore
Performance-based commission: Rs 25 crore

This means that the majority of his salary came from cash salaries and bonuses, while stock-based payments were very low.

Even
Though TCS is larger and more profitable than Infosys, Infosys CEO Salil Parekh earns significantly more. This is primarily due to the large portion of his compensation package consisting of shares and stock-based incentives. This makes his total earnings nearly three times that of the TCS CEO.
