The long-running war between Russia and Ukraine has escalated again in the past few days. Meanwhile, Russia has launched a long-range attack on the Bucha district near the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, killing at least 27 people, seriously injuring 42, and damaging 50 residential buildings.
Regarding the Russian attack, Timur Tkachenko, head of the local regional military administration in the Bucha district, said that tragically, at least 27 people were killed and 50 residential buildings were damaged. He expressed condolences to the victims and said that the death toll could rise further. Furthermore, a massive fire broke out following the attack, spreading from several homes to a restaurant.

According to ABC News, Tkachenko shared an official statement on Telegram, saying, "42 other people were also injured in the attack, including four children. Seven of these injured have been hospitalized. A rapid rescue operation is underway in the Bucha district, about 20 miles northwest of Kyiv, to clear debris, rescue people, and extinguish the fires that broke out after the Russian attack. Emergency teams are working to extinguish the fire, conduct search and rescue operations, and inspect nearby buildings."
Tkachenko said that medical service teams are also present at the site of the attack and a total of 381 people, including 59 children, have been evacuated from the area.
What did the Ukrainian President say on the Russian attack?
Meanwhile, according to an Associated Press report, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a statement about the Russian attack that a warehouse in the village of Myla was targeted, followed by an explosion. He did not share details about the scene, but said criminal proceedings have been initiated against officials for negligence.
"There are rules in place that ammunition and weapons cannot be stored near civilian homes or residential areas," Zanzelski said. The attack damaged several residential buildings, including a care home for the elderly and disabled. More than 370 people have already been evacuated, and an operation is underway to evacuate the remaining residents.
