Shubman Gill Surpasses Virat Kohli: Shubman Gill recently batted brilliantly in the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan. Batting in both innings, Gill scored 84* and 154 runs, respectively, earning him the Player of the Series award. These innings helped Gill gain a significant boost in the ODI rankings, surpassing Virat Kohli.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) released the latest rankings on Wednesday (June 24), in which Gill surpassed Kohli. Gill jumped three places to second place, while Virat Kohli slipped one spot to third.

Gill has a rating of 791, while Kohli has a rating of 768. It's worth noting that Kohli missed the Afghanistan ODI series due to injury. However, he was included in Team India's squad.

Daryl Mitchell No. 1, 3 Indians in top-5

New Zealand batsman Daryl Mitchell tops the rankings with a rating of 815. Looking at the top five in the ODI batting rankings, three Indians are visible. Gill is second, and Virat Kohli is third. Rohit Sharma is fourth with a rating of 754. At number five is Afghanistan's Ibrahim Zadran, who has a rating of 712.

No Indian in the top-5 bowlers' rankings

Looking at the ODI bowling rankings, there's no Indian in the top five. Rashid Khan is ranked first, followed by Pakistan's Abrar Ahmed in second, England's Jofra Archer in third, South Africa's Keshav Maharaj in fourth, and Sri Lanka's Maheesh Theekshana in fifth. The five batsmen have ratings of 682, 675, 649, 645, and 641, respectively.

The first Indian bowler to appear at number seven is Kuldeep Yadav, who has a rating of 614. Looking further into the top 10 bowlers, there's still only one Indian, Kuldeep Yadav.
