Petrol Diesel Price Today: No change in petrol-diesel prices today

Petrol-Diesel Price Today on June 10: Fuel prices remained stable in the country on Wednesday, June 10. Earlier, on Monday, May 25, oil marketing companies (OMCs) had increased the prices of both petrol and diesel by more than ₹2.50 per liter. It's worth noting that the total price increase since May 15 has increased fuel costs by approximately ₹7.5 per liter.

Now the price has increased after May 2022

Fuel prices in India are at their highest level since May 2022. Prior to this, prices had remained largely stable for more than two years, except for a reduction of ₹2 per liter in March 2024. This is because the latest increase was the fourth in less than two weeks. This increase was due to a delay in passing on price changes to consumers after a sharp surge in global crude oil prices due to the war in West Asia.

The war in West Asia has disrupted global energy supplies, including in India. The conflict, which has been ongoing for the past three months, has disrupted 40% of India's crude oil imports, 65% of natural gas, and 90% of LPG supplies – all of which come from the Gulf region.

Congress opened a front against the government.

Meanwhile, Congress workers in Kalaburagi took to the streets on Tuesday to protest the hike in petrol, diesel, and LPG prices and demand that the BJP-led central government immediately roll them back. Organized by the District Congress Committee, the protest began at the party office on Sedam Road and proceeded to Annapurna Cross. Protesters raised slogans against the central government and blocked traffic at a busy intersection as part of the protest.

Addressing the gathering, Gescom Chairman Praveen Patil Harwal alleged that the continuous rise in fuel prices was increasing the burden on poor families and appealed to the central government to reduce the prices of LPG, petrol, and diesel without delay. District Mahila Congress President Renuka Singe and District Youth Congress President Shakeel Ahmed Saradgi also participated in the protest.
