ABP India at 2047 Conclave: Renowned economist Surjit Singh Bhalla also spoke at ABP Network's India@2047 Conclave. He spoke on the topic "Economic Crisis: What Should the Government Do?"

He said that the ongoing conflict in West Asia has caused a crisis in every country. This war has affected many things. This crisis is not unique to India; it exists everywhere. He also said that we need a growth rate of 8 to 8.5 percent. India has never experienced such political dominance. We need structural changes for economic growth.

The slow pace of economic reforms is a cause for concern.

At the event, he shared a recent analysis, stating that the BJP's consistent electoral victories and political stability have put the government in a comfort zone. He also cautioned that political dominance has somewhat diminished the government's will to implement tough economic reforms, a challenge that must be addressed on the path to a "developed India."

Political stability alone is not enough.

He stated clearly that the warning signs emerging from the decline in private investment and foreign capital outflows should not be ignored. According to him, while political strength is a significant achievement, this alone cannot achieve India's development by 2047. This requires continuous reforms at the grassroots level. He advised the government to adopt aggressive and inclusive policies to address economic fluctuations and achieve sustainable growth.

Regarding India's economic vision, he has already suggested that the country should use its sovereign funds properly to strengthen its hold in the commodity market so that Indian investment becomes stronger at the global level.
