ICC Rankings: A 36-year-old record has been broken with a major change in the rankings. Two bowlers have reached the top spot in the Test rankings. Ishan Kishan has jumped 21 places.

ICC Rankings Latest Update: The International Cricket Council (ICC) released its latest rankings on Wednesday (June 24), breaking a 36-year-old record. Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and New Zealand fast bowler Matt Henry reached the top of the Test rankings. Henry jumped six places, while Bumrah's ranking remained unchanged. Furthermore, Ishan Kishan made a significant jump of 21 places in the ODI rankings. India's Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill also benefited.
36 year old record broken
In fact, after a long wait of 36 years, a New Zealand bowler has achieved the number one position in the Test rankings. Matt Henry reached the top spot with a rating of 870. Henry became only the third New Zealand Test bowler to reach the number one position. The Kiwis previously held the number one position, first held by Jack Cowie in 1947 and then by Richard Hadlee between 1984 and 1990. Now, Henry joins the list as the third player.
Joe Root also became number one.
Joe Root, who performed brilliantly in the ongoing Test series against New Zealand, has jumped two places to the top spot. Root's rating has reached 871. England's Harry Brook is second on the list with a rating of 866.
Ishan Kishan jumped 21 places.
Ishan Kishan, who batted brilliantly in the ODI series against Afghanistan, has jumped 21 places to 43rd in the ODI batting rankings. His rating is 516.
Shubman Gill also benefited, close to becoming number 1
Shubman Gill has also benefited in the ODI batting rankings. Gill has moved up three places, taking him to number two. Gill's rating is 791. New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell is at number one on the list with a rating of 815. It will be interesting to see when Gill can reach the number one spot.
