The health of Indian pilot Smit Machhar is improving. Indian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Deepak Mittal has met with Smit Machhar and his family.

How is Smit Machhar's health?
Indian pilot Captain Smit Machhar, who was injured during a stabbing incident on FlyDubai flight FZ1073, is being treated at a hospital in Saudi Arabia. Deepak Mittal, India's ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), met with Machhar and his family. He stated that Machhar is doing well and provided a health update.
India's Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Deepak Mittal on Thursday said he was relieved to meet Captain Smit Machhar, who is in better health and recovering fast.
Machhar is recovering from his injuries.
Deepak Mittal said Machhar's initial treatment began at a hospital in Tabuk city. After being admitted there for a day, Machhar was transferred to Abu Dhabi for better treatment and to recover from his injuries. He is now recovering rapidly.
The Ministry of External Affairs said that Deepak Mittal also met the family
and assured all possible assistance for the Captain's health. The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement, "Our Embassy in Abu Dhabi and our Consulate General in Dubai are in constant touch with the local authorities in this matter. We once again salute the valour and courage of Captain Smit Machhar." It added, "We also deeply appreciate the praise and support he has received from across the world for his brave act." Earlier, Mittal had said that he was "deeply relieved" to meet Captain Machhar, who is "fine and recovering rapidly from his injuries."
On Wednesday, Machhar was stabbed and seriously injured by his co-pilot in the cockpit of Flydubai flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv. The plane was carrying 174 people. The incident forced the plane to make an emergency landing in Tabuk, northwestern Saudi Arabia.
