IND vs PAK ODI World Cup

The 14th edition of the ICC ODI World Cup (Cricket World Cup 2027) will be played between October 4 and November 21 next year. The ICC will announce the full schedule today. This year, the tournament format has changed, with a Super Series round before the group stage and a Super 7 round before the semi-finals. Given the strained relationship between the BCCI and the PCB over the past few days, the question is whether the two teams will be in the same group?

A total of 14 teams will play in the 2027 ODI World Cup. Eleven teams have secured a place in the group stage, but one team will be determined by the Super Series round. In the first round, the three lowest-ranked teams will play two matches each. The top-ranked team will advance to Round 2 (the group stage), and the other two will be eliminated.

In this round, 12 teams will be divided into two groups of six each. The top three teams from each group and the best team from each group will advance to the Super 7. This time, there will be no direct entry into the semi-finals from the group stage; instead, this new round has been added, which will feature a total of seven teams.

The Super 7 round will be played in a single round-robin format. The top four teams will qualify for the semi-finals. The first-place team will play the fourth-place team, and the second-place team will play the third-place team in the semi-finals.
