IND vs SL 2nd Test
Sri Lanka Squad, IND vs SL 2nd Test: The second and final match of the ongoing two-match Test series between India and Sri Lanka will be played in Colombo from August 23. After losing the first match in Galle by 165 runs, hosts Sri Lanka have made two major changes to the squad for the final match, including uncapped players. These changes were made due to injury concerns.
According to Cricbuzz, Sri Lanka has included top-order batsman Kamil Mishara and all-rounder Sahan Arachchige in the squad. Both are uncapped Test players for Sri Lanka. However, both play white-ball cricket (ODIs and T20 Internationals) for Sri Lanka.
The coach gave an update on the injury.
Following the Galle Test, Sri Lanka head coach Gary Kirsten provided an update on the players' injuries. He stated that Mendis has a hamstring injury, which will make him unavailable for some time. Dinesh Chandimal will also be unavailable for the next match. Pathum Nissanka is also unlikely to play.
Chandi Mal suffered a head and neck injury while fielding on the fourth day of the first Test. Pasindu Suriyabandara was included as a concussion sub in his place.
Arachchige's impressive performances in the unofficial Test matches earned him a place in the squad. He scored 127 runs in the second match. It will be interesting to see whether he gets a chance in the second Test against India. If he is included in the playing eleven, it will also be his Test debut.
Sri Lanka's flop performance in the first match
Host Sri Lanka performed poorly in the first match. Team India won the toss and scored 462 runs for 10 wickets in the first innings.
