South Africa Squad for Namibia Tour: The South African Cricket Board announced the squad for the Namibia tour on Tuesday (August 11), which featured a new captain. 31-year-old spinner Bjorn Fortuin has been appointed captain. This is the first time Fortuin has been appointed captain.
South Africa will first play Namibia and Zimbabwe in a tri-series, starting on August 28th in Windhoek. The series will conclude on September 6th. They will then play Namibia in a three-match ODI series, scheduled from September 9th to 13th. This will be the first ODI series between the two countries.
Marco Jansson's twin gets a place
Duane Jansen, the twin brother of South Africa's star all-rounder Marco Jansen, has also been included in the African squad. Duane was given this opportunity due to his impressive performance in domestic cricket. It will be interesting to see whether he can make his international debut on this tour.
All-rounder Ethan Bosch is the only other player in the squad who has yet to play a T20 International, although he has played one ODI. Furthermore, Conor Esterhuizen, Jordan Harman, and Nkobani Mokoena have received their first ODI call-ups. Jordan's brother, Rubin Harman, is also part of the squad.
