Amidst the rumors of LPG gas, the government made a big statement, giving the data on online booking. What did it say about the supply?

LPG Booking: Amid the gas cylinder shortage, the government has revealed that online bookings have increased. Although the global situation hasn't significantly improved, there are still some improvements.

There has been an increase in both LPG bookings and deliveries.

LPG bookings increased: The US-Iran conflict situation has not yet improved, which is impacting global gas and petrol-diesel supplies. Meanwhile, the government has revealed an increase in online bookings for LPG cylinders. Domestic LPG is being prioritized, and its delivery has been increased to 99 percent based on industry standards.

DAC-based deliveries increased
The government recently reported an increase in Delivery Authentication Code (DAC)-based deliveries, resulting in a nearly 92 percent increase in cylinder deliveries. The DAC is received on your registered mobile number. The Petroleum Ministry stated, "Many LPG distributors are working even on Sundays to ensure no one faces a shortage of domestic LPG cylinders." They also stated that total commercial LPG allocation has been increased to approximately 70 percent of pre-crisis levels, including a 10 percent reform-related allocation.

Commercial Cylinder Status
The Ministry also stated that more than 18.45 lakh 5 kg free trade LPG cylinders have been sold since March 23, 2026. A three-member committee comprising executive directors from IOCL, HPCN, and BPCL is in discussions with state officials and industry leaders to plan commercial LPG distribution in states and union territories. Over the past five days, an average of more than 7,000 metric tonnes of commercial LPG has been sold daily.
