Investors are treading cautiously.

US President Donald Trump has announced a 10% tariff on eight European countries opposing the Greenland Agreement, effective February 1st and rising to 25% in June. This decision has put pressure on the stock market. Investors are also awaiting retaliation from European countries against the US tariffs, leading to a cautious mood in the market.

Dr. VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Investments, said, "Market volatility is likely to continue in the near future until some clarity emerges regarding the US-Europe standoff over the Greenland tariffs. Since both sides have hardened their stances, uncertainty will persist for some time. If the US Supreme Court's decision on the Trump tariffs goes against President Trump, a new development is likely today. However, there is no certainty that the decision will come today. If it does, the decision could change the entire scenario overnight."
