Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins admitted after their 47-run defeat to Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League eliminator on Wednesday that his team lost some wickets at the wrong time while chasing a target of 244.

Chasing Rajasthan Royals' target of 244, Sunrisers were bowled out for 196 in 19.2 overs by Archer (3/58), Sushant Mishra (2/21), Ravindra Jadeja (2/21) and Nandre Burger (2/26).

Rajasthan Royals made 243 for eight with half-centuries from Vaibhav Suryavanshi (97 off 29 balls with 12 sixes and five fours) and Dhruv Jurel (50 off 21 balls with five fours and three sixes).

Pat Cummins said after the match, "A few things needed to go right for us to achieve the target of 245 (244). But we lost some wickets at the wrong time. We fell just short of a top-two finish, but there's no doubting the boys' efforts."

Pat Cummins praised Rajasthan Royals opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi, saying, "He played very well. The pitch was very good, but the margin for error is so small that if you miss a yorker, he doesn't. The wicket was very good. Our team is very balanced in every way."

Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins also praised his young bowlers, saying, "Praful and Shakib were excellent. We are one of the youngest teams to reach the playoffs, and the coaching team has unearthed some gems."
