Most Valuable IPL Teams 2026: The business value of the Indian Premier League has exceeded $20 billion. RCB remains the most valuable team.

 

 

 

The IPL is not just the world's richest cricket league, but has also become a life-changing platform for players. Launched in 2008, the Indian Premier League has grown into a business worth over US$20 billion. Global investment bank Houlihan Lokey released a report estimating the IPL's total business value at $20.6 billion, equivalent to approximately ₹1.96 lakh crore.

It's worth noting that two franchises also changed owners this year. The RCB franchise was acquired by the Times of India Group, Blackstone, and the Aditya Birla Group for $1.78 billion. Meanwhile, the Mittal family and Adar Poonawalla jointly acquired the Rajasthan Royals for ₹16.5 billion. Not only the IPL, but the brand value of the teams is also skyrocketing.

IPL worth Rs 1.96 lakh crore

According to a report released by Houlihan Lokey, the IPL's business value has increased by 11.4 percent this year. In terms of per-match valuation, the IPL now trails only the American football league, the NFL. The IPL's brand value alone has increased by $4.3 billion.

RCB has the highest brand value

The most valuable team in the Indian Premier League is Royal Challengers Bangalore. RCB's brand value has increased by 16 percent to US$312 million, making it the first team to surpass the $300 million valuation. In 2025, Bangalore was valued at $269 million.

Mumbai Indians are second among the most valuable teams, with a value of $264 million. Kolkata Knight Riders are third with a value of $245 million. They are followed by five-time champions Chennai Super Kings.
