RRB NTPC UG CBT 2 Exam Date 2026 Announced: Test on September 17, Admit Card From September 13

RRB NTPC UG CBT 2 Exam 2026: The Railway Recruitment Board has announced the date for the second-stage Computer Based Test for the Non-Technical Popular Categories Undergraduate recruitment. According to the schedule, the RRB NTPC UG CBT 2 exam will be held on September 17, 2026.

Only candidates shortlisted after the CBT 1 result will be eligible to appear in this stage. Candidates can check exam-related information through the official website of their respective regional RRB.

RRB NTPC UG CBT 2 Exam Pattern

The second-stage examination will be conducted in computer-based mode. Candidates will get 90 minutes to complete the paper.

A total of 120 multiple-choice questions will be asked for 120 marks. The paper will cover three sections: General Awareness, Mathematics, and General Intelligence & Reasoning.

Candidates should also keep the negative marking rule in mind. For every incorrect answer, one-third of a mark will be deducted.

City Intimation Slip From September 7

Candidates appearing for CBT 2 will be able to access their exam city intimation slip from September 7, 2026.

The SC/ST travel authority or travel pass is also expected to become available from the same date.

The city slip will help candidates know the city allotted for their examination before the admit card is released.

Admit Card to Be Released on September 13

The RRB NTPC UG CBT 2 admit card is scheduled to be available from September 13, 2026.

Candidates should download the hall ticket from their respective regional RRB website and carefully check details such as reporting time, examination centre, shift and instructions.

They should also carry the required documents to the examination centre according to the instructions mentioned on the admit card.

Typing Skill Test Scheduled for December 4

Candidates who qualify the second-stage CBT will move to the next stage depending on the post they have applied for.

According to the schedule, the Typing Skill Test is planned for December 4, 2026 for candidates applying to posts where the typing test is applicable.

Candidates should note that the typing skill test is not required for every NTPC undergraduate post.

45,898 Candidates Shortlisted for CBT 2

The RRB NTPC Undergraduate recruitment attracted a very large number of applicants.

According to the recruitment details, 63,27,474 candidates registered for the undergraduate-level posts.

Out of these, 45,898 candidates have been shortlisted for CBT 2.

The number of shortlisted candidates is around 15 times the total number of vacancies available under the recruitment drive.

Minimum Qualifying Marks for CBT 2

RRB has prescribed different minimum qualifying marks for candidates belonging to different categories.

Candidates from the Unreserved and EWS categories need at least 40% marks.

For OBC Non-Creamy Layer and SC candidates, the minimum qualifying requirement is 30%.

Candidates belonging to the ST category need at least 25% marks.

For PwBD candidates, the minimum qualifying marks may be relaxed by up to two percentage points if an adequate number of eligible candidates is not available against reserved vacancies.

It is important to understand that securing the minimum qualifying marks alone does not guarantee selection. Candidates will also have to meet the applicable merit and cut-off requirements.

Recruitment Will Be Completed Through Multiple Stages

The RRB NTPC Undergraduate selection process consists of multiple stages.

Candidates first appear for the first-stage Computer Based Test (CBT 1). Those shortlisted then move to CBT 2.

For posts where typing skills are required, shortlisted candidates will subsequently have to appear for the Computer Based Typing Skill Test.
