He said that our Prime Minister did what even the British could not do. It was everyone's dream to see the completion of the Chenab Bridge project, which PM Modi has fulfilled today.
Prime Minister Modi on Friday inaugurated the world's highest rail bridge built on the Chenab River in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir by hoisting the tricolor. After this, the PM also flagged off Kashmir's first train Vande Bharat at Anji Bridge and Cuttack.
‘Not the British, Modi completed the work’
CM Omar Abdullah praised the project and said that the work that the British could not do was completed by PM Modi. He said that when this project started, I was in 8th class. Now I am 55 years old. Jammu and Kashmir will benefit a lot from this project. The local people are going to get a lot of benefits in the coming days. Chenab Bridge will accelerate the development of the state. Omar further said that this was dreamt of for many decades. Even the British dreamt of this. But, what could not be completed by the British was accomplished during the tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The state will progress with this
Omar Abdullah said that this project will accelerate the development of the state. This will greatly benefit the farmers of the state, especially the people doing apple business. Now the apples grown in Kashmir will be able to reach different parts of the country easily, which will also improve the economic condition of the country. He said that this will not only increase the income but will also provide employment to the youth.
Jammu and Kashmir got two new trains
The PM said that I got the opportunity to inaugurate Chenab Bridge and Anji Bridge, it is a matter of good fortune for me. Jammu and Kashmir got two new trains. Addressing the people of Jammu and Kashmir, he said that I congratulate all of you for this development. Many generations have passed here dreaming of rail connectivity. Referring to CM Omar's words, he said that Omar says that since he was studying in seventh-eighth class, he was waiting for the completion of this project. Further, he said that today the dream of millions of people has come true.
Demand for full state status also raised
Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah demanded restoration of full state status to the state in front of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a public program on Friday. He said that there are four people on this stage who were present at the time of inauguration of Katra railway station in 2014. You (Prime Minister Modi) became the Prime Minister for the first time at that time. Manoj Sinha was the Minister of State for Railways, and I was the Chief Minister of the state.
He further said, today Manoj Sinha ji is the Lieutenant Governor, meaning he has been promoted but I have now become the Chief Minister of a Union Territory and not a state, meaning I have been demoted. I am confident that this situation will change soon and Jammu and Kashmir will get the status of a state again during your tenure.
