Milk Rate in Mumbai: After sugar, onions, and eggs, milk prices are now set to rise. The Mumbai Milk Producers Association has announced a 9-rupee increase in milk prices, effective September 1st.

Milk Price Increase: The general public is about to face a significant inflationary shock starting September 1st. Milk prices in Mumbai, the country's financial capital, are set to rise by a whopping ₹9. This announcement was made by the Mumbai Milk Producers Association. With the price hike, the current wholesale price of milk in Mumbai will rise from ₹93 per liter to ₹102 per liter.

The Mumbai Milk Producers Association made this decision in light of rising prices for dairy animals and the increase in the cost of animal feed. Association President Chandra Kumar Singh stated that these new prices will be effective in Mumbai from September 1, 2026, to February 28, 2027. The decision was made at a meeting held at the Diwan Centre Hall in Jogeshwari.

25% increase in animal feed – Association

The meeting noted that rising prices for dairy animals, along with the rising prices of animal feed, such as grains, turmeric, and chickpeas, have also increased by up to 25 percent. It was also stated that the increased prices of feed, oil cake, and other items are placing a financial burden on milk producers.

Now milk will be sold for Rs 102

Due to rising production costs, the price of milk has been increased by ₹9 per liter to ₹102 per liter. The Mumbai Milk Producers Association clarified that this decision was taken to provide relief to milk producers from rising costs.

What are the milk rates in Delhi-NCR?

It's worth noting that in Delhi and its surrounding areas, including Ghaziabad , Noida, Gurugram, and Faridabad, full-cream milk is currently selling for ₹72 per liter. Local milkmen are selling it for ₹80 per liter. Cow's milk costs ₹65 to ₹70 per liter. However, prices from local dairy farms or loose milk vendors vary by region.
