Government of India gave a big update on LPG supply

India has been facing a shortage of LPG gas for several days. Meanwhile, the government has provided a major update regarding this matter. The central government has assured that there will be no problems with cooking gas in India amid the US-Iran war. They have clarified that the country has sufficient gas stocks. Therefore, there is no need to panic or worry.

What information did the Petroleum Ministry provide?
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Petroleum and Natural Gas Secretary Neeraj Mittal stated, "I don't see any problems anywhere. All domestic supplies are 100%." He also stated that approximately 70 percent of packaged LPG has already been released. He added that while there may be some minor problems with local supply, they are normal, not a major issue, as such problems occur daily and are resolved.

Mittal also spoke about the
movement of ships. He stated that there are no disruptions and that shipments are moving smoothly. Mittal said, "Despite the blockade, ships are arriving regularly. They adhere to their normal travel schedules. We are not reporting any delays in crossing the strait. The government is reviewing this daily. If any changes are required, they will be made."

What is Plan B?
Addressing a conference on energy security and India's growing gas demand, Mittal emphasized that the recent crisis in West Asia has highlighted the importance of planning for adverse situations and strengthening energy security. He noted that India sources crude oil from 41 countries, natural gas from 30, and LPG from 13, and it is essential to consider these factors when formulating future energy security policies. He also stated that the government is committed to ensuring gas availability to all institutions, and is also focusing on ensuring that such a crisis does not occur again.
