IRCTC Dakshin Bharat Yatra: If you're planning a trip to major religious sites in South India, IRCTC's new "Dakshin Bharat Yatra" package could be a great opportunity. This journey, operated on the Bharat Gaurav tourist train, will run from July 31, 2026, to August 11, 2026. This 11-night, 12-day journey will take pilgrims to Tirupati Balaji, Rameswaram, Madurai, Kanyakumari, and the Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga at Srisailam. The package starts at ₹23,560 per person.

Where will the train depart from?

This special train will depart from Gorakhpur. Passengers will be able to board the train at stations like Mankapur, Ayodhya Cantt, Sultanpur, Pratapgarh, Prayagraj Sangam, Rae Bareli, Lucknow , Kanpur Central, Orai, Veerangna Laxmibai (Jhansi), and Lalitpur. The train will reach Renigunta as its first stop, from where passengers will be taken by road to Tirupati. A two-night stay will be provided here. During this time, devotees will be able to visit the Tirupati Balaji Temple. However, passengers will have to make their own arrangements for visiting Tirumala. Additionally, visits to the Sri Kalahasti Temple and the Padmavati Temple will also be provided.

 

Visit to Ramanathaswamy Temple

The journey will then proceed to Rameswaram. Visits to the famous Ramanathaswamy Temple will be provided, and accommodation will be provided. If, for some reason, the train cannot reach Rameswaram station, passengers will be transported by road to Kudalnagar or Manamadurai stations. They will then be taken to Madurai to visit the famous Meenakshi Amman Temple.

Tours of major local landmarks will be provided.

The next leg of the journey will take pilgrims to Kanyakumari. Here, they will be treated to a tour of major local sites, including the Vivekananda Rock Memorial. The train will then reach Markapur Road, where they will be taken by bus to Srisailam for darshan of the Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga. Following the darshan, the return journey will begin, and the train will return to Gorakhpur on August 11th.

How much will it cost?

The package starts at ₹23,560 per person for Sleeper Economy class. 3AC Standard class fares are ₹39,100 and 2AC Comfort class fares are ₹51,760 per person. Separate fares are applicable for children. Passengers booking singles will be required to share a room with another passenger on a double or triple sharing basis. The package includes travel by Bharat Gaurav train, class-specific hotel accommodation, wash and change, morning tea, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, vegetarian meals, local transportation, travel insurance, a tour escort, and the services of an IRCTC tour manager throughout the journey. All applicable taxes are also included.
