How To Make Crispy Potato Chips At Home: If your kids constantly insist on buying chips from the market, surprise them with homemade crispy potato chips. With the right method, these chips are so crispy that every bite delivers the same deliciousness, but without any preservatives. The best part is that you only need a few common kitchen ingredients to make them.

How to make tasty chips at home?

First, wash two large potatoes thoroughly. Peel them if desired. Using a sharp knife or slicer, cut the potatoes into very thin slices. The thinner the chips, the crispier they will be. Prepare a solution by adding two teaspoons of salt to a large bowl of cold water. Soak the sliced potatoes in the solution for 15 to 20 minutes. This removes excess starch, making the chips crispier and less likely to darken after frying.

Add a teaspoon of white vinegar.

Next, bring a pot of water to a boil and add 2 tablespoons of white vinegar. Boil the soaked potato slices for 3 to 4 minutes. The vinegar helps give the chips a better texture and maintains their color during frying. After boiling, remove the slices and spread them out on a kitchen towel to dry thoroughly. Ensure there is no water on the slices.

How to filter?

Heat oil in a deep pan or wok. Once the oil is sufficiently hot, add the potato slices a few at a time. Adding too many slices at once can cause the chips to stick together and prevent them from cooking properly. Fry the chips over medium heat until they turn light golden, and the bubbles in the oil subside. Remove the chips and place them on tissue paper to drain off any excess oil. Sprinkle salt, pepper, chaat masala, mint powder, peri-peri masala, or any other seasoning of your choice onto the hot chips and mix gently.

Store in an airtight container

If you can't finish all the chips at once, let them cool completely and then store them in an airtight container. Chips stored this way stay crisp for several days. Keep a few small things in mind: the thinner the potato slices, the better the chips will be. It's important to dry them thoroughly before frying, and always fry over medium heat.
