Flight Tickets: Now, the government has given domestic airlines a sigh of relief, to counter the rising fuel costs and sudden fare hikes.

Major decision of Aviation Ministry

The ongoing tensions in the Middle East are having an impact worldwide. This is affecting not only domestic gas prices and inflation, but also the aviation industry worldwide. Meanwhile, the government has now provided some relief to domestic airlines, seeking to mitigate the rising fuel costs and sudden fare hikes.

The Aviation Ministry's decision
has recently taken an important decision. Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu stated that a major decision has been taken to provide relief to Indian domestic airlines amid the ongoing crisis in West Asia and rapidly rising ATF prices globally. The government has announced a 25 percent reduction in landing and parking fees for domestic flights for three months. This decision will slightly ease the operational pressure on airlines and will also reduce the burden of increased flight fares on travelers.

The Ministry has issued strict instructions to the Airport Economic Regulatory Authority to implement this decision as quickly as possible
. For now, it should be effectively implemented at major airports. It's worth noting that previously, the government had passed on only 25 percent of the ATF price increase to airlines, while globally, ATF prices have risen by more than 100 percent.

Minister Ram Mohan Naidu said, "Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our effort is to make air travel affordable and convenient for ordinary travelers. Despite the current global challenges, we have ensured that domestic airlines are not overburdened. Now, by reducing landing and parking fees by 25 percent, we are providing further relief to airlines, ensuring airfares remain stable."

Airlines will benefit.
The ministry believes that this relief is expected to save airlines approximately ₹400 crore at major airports over three months. The minister also stated, "The ministry is in constant contact with all stakeholders, including airlines, airport operators, and AERA. Further necessary steps will be taken as the situation is reviewed. The government believes that these measures will ensure the viability of the domestic aviation sector and ensure passengers continue to enjoy safe and affordable air travel." The ministry clarified that necessary relief measures will be implemented in the future, while monitoring changing circumstances.
