Chief Minister's Digital Education Scheme 2026: Delhi's 10th Pass Students to Receive Free Laptops, Learn the Complete Process

In this era of digital revolution, the nature of education has completely transformed. Education is no longer limited to books; laptops and the internet have become essential tools for students. Taking a significant step in this direction, the Delhi government has approved the Chief Minister's Digital Education Scheme for meritorious students. Launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the main objective of this scheme is to equip bright students with modern resources for higher education and competitive examinations. Let's learn how female students in Delhi can get free laptops under this scheme and what the eligibility criteria are.

What is the Chief Minister's Digital Education Scheme?

The Chief Minister's Digital Education Scheme is an ambitious initiative of the Delhi government aimed at encouraging students who perform exceptionally well in Class 10. Under this scheme, 1,200 meritorious students will be given free laptops every academic year based on the merit list. The government has clarified that these will not be ordinary laptops, but high-end i7 configuration laptops with a market value of more than Rs. 60,000. The Delhi government has allocated a special budget of Rs. 7.5 crore for this entire project to digitally empower the education sector.

Who will benefit from the scheme?

To avail of this scheme, certain eligibility criteria have been set. First, the student must be a permanent resident of Delhi. The student must have passed the Class 10 examination from the CBSE board and be included in the top 1,200 merit list of the board. Additionally, the student must have studied at a regular school and currently be enrolled in Class 11. Only those students who fulfill all these conditions will be considered eligible for this free laptop scheme.

How will female students benefit and what is the application process?

This government scheme does not discriminate between male and female students. Female students who secure a place in the merit list and meet the eligibility criteria will also be given an i7 configuration laptop on an equal basis. The government believes this initiative will increase digital literacy among female students and empower them to become self-reliant. The best part is that no separate application is required to avail of this scheme. The Education Department will itself prepare a list of the top 1,200 students based on their CBSE Class 10 board results. Laptops will then be distributed to the selected students through a special program. If necessary, students can submit their documents through their respective schools.

Documents Required for the Scheme

To benefit from the scheme, students need to have certain basic documents such as a Delhi Aadhaar card, Class 10 mark sheet, proof of admission to Class 11, and a school identity card. The government believes that access to digital resources will enable students to study online more effectively, create digital notes, and take their preparation for future competitive exams to new heights.
