Waqar Younis picks his favourite players
When it comes to differentiating between Indian and Pakistani cricketers, everyone has their own preferences. Some consider Sachin Tendulkar better, while others prefer Virat Kohli's game. But when the same question was asked of former Pakistani fast bowler Waqar Younis, his answers were quite interesting. During Shubhankar Mishra's podcast, Waqar had to choose between the two countries' legendary players. In most of the matches, he named Indian players.
The first big question facing Waqar Younis was Sachin Tendulkar and Inzamam-ul-Haq. He chose Sachin over former Pakistan captain Inzamam. Then, when it came to choosing between Virat Kohli and Babar Azam, he chose Virat. This means that Waqar's choice for both batting positions was the Indian player.
Who is better between Bumrah and Shaheen?
Waqar also chose India's Jasprit Bumrah in fast bowling. He was faced with the choice between Bumrah and Pakistan's Shaheen Afridi. He chose Shami over Mohammed Shami and Mohammad Amir. Indian bowlers also found a place in these answers.
Trust in Dhoni and Rohit too
Waqar chose MS Dhoni as a better finisher than Pakistan's Javed Miandad. He cited Dhoni's record of winning more matches in his career. He chose Dravid over Rahul Dravid and Younis Khan. He also rated Rohit Sharma better than Fakhar Zaman and VVS Laxman better than Misbah-ul-Haq.
These players from Pakistan were also selected
Pakistani players also found a place in Waqar's answers. He chose Saeed Anwar over Virender Sehwag. His preference between Kapil Dev and Imran Khan was Imran Khan . In spin bowling, he chose Anil Kumble for Tests and Saqlain Mushtaq for ODIs.
Waqar didn't name a particular choice between Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Sameer Minhas, saying he hadn't seen enough of them to choose one.
