IOCL hikes premium petrol prices

State-owned oil company Indian Oil Corporation has increased the price of premium petrol XP-95 by ₹2 per liter. The company stated, "Crude oil prices have risen from $71 to $156 per barrel in the last 20 days. Despite this, petrol and diesel prices in India have not been increased. The company says that fuel supplies will continue uninterrupted across the country."

In the post, the company stated that maintaining price stability in the domestic market has become more important than ever amid rising global crude oil prices. Despite rising international costs, Indian Oil has not increased the prices of common automotive fuels in India. However, there has been a limited change in the price of premium petrol XP-95, which has a minimal impact on overall consumption.

In addition to IOCL, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has increased the price of its Speed, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has increased the price of its Power Premium petrol by Rs 2.09 per liter. The price of premium petrol, which was around Rs 111.68 per liter before the price hike, has now increased to around Rs 113.77 per liter.
