Karan Adani lauds investment climate in Telangana, citing the Adani Group's rapidly growing presence in the state.

Karan Adani said that the Hyderabad-based Adani Group's defence and aerospace unit is India's first long-range UAV (drone) manufacturing facility, which supplies to the Indian armed forces and international customers and employs over 1,500 people.

Karan Adani says Telangana is growing with quality, praises the transparent governance model.

At the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025, Karan Adani, CEO of Adani Ports and SEZ Limited, provided detailed information on the Adani Group's growing activities in Telangana, ongoing projects, and the impact of state government policies. The event, held in Hyderabad, was attended by several industry leaders, including the state's Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy.

Karan Adani began his address by praising the working style of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He stated that Telangana today is among the states where administrative decisions are taken with utmost speed and transparency. He added that under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's leadership, the state operates with a clear vision and purpose, a trait rarely seen in Indian politics. He believes this is why the industry feels confident about long-term investments in Telangana.

Praise for a better governance model for industries

Karan Adani stated that the Telangana government has created a business environment highly conducive to large industries by emphasising a fast clearance system, clear regulations, and long-term economic planning. He stated that transparency, quick decision-making, and long-term economic planning—the three key strengths for industries seeking large-scale investments. He also stated that the state's stability and clear policy framework allow businesses to pursue larger goals.

In his address, he drew particular attention to the Adani Group's Defence and Aerospace Centre in Hyderabad. It is India's first long-endurance UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) manufacturing facility. It produces state-of-the-art drones for the Indian Armed Forces and also supplies them to several international customers. He informed that this facility was established in line with the National Mission for Self-Reliance (Atmanirbhar Bharat). It directly employs over 1,500 people and generates a large number of indirect jobs in the supply chain. This centre makes India's defence manufacturing capabilities globally competitive.

A quantum leap in digital infrastructure—Green data centres

Karan Adani also highlighted the group's ₹2,500 crore green data centre being developed in Telangana as a major project. This will be a high-performance data center with a 48 MW capacity. The state-of-the-art infrastructure is being developed to support AI, cloud services, and heavy digital workloads. This center will strengthen the country's digital security, data capacity, and technology preparedness.

Karan Adani explained that the group has also focused on strengthening Telangana's road and logistics network over the past few years. Over 100 kilometres of road network have been constructed in various districts—Mancherial, Suryapet, Kodad, and Khammam—with an investment of approximately ₹4,000 crore. According to him, these road corridors have accelerated the movement of goods, reduced transportation costs, and are directly benefiting businesses and industries.

Expansion in cement production capacity

Recognising the surge in construction activity in Telangana, Adani Cement has also expanded its capacity in the state. Units have been established in Ganeshpahar, Tandur, and Devapur. The total production capacity is 7 MTPA. Investments exceeding ₹2,000 crore have been made. These plants are continuously supporting the state's infrastructure development needs.

Over the past three years, the Adani Group has invested nearly ₹10,000 crore in Telangana, creating over 7,000 direct and indirect jobs. These investments span diverse sectors such as defence, digital infrastructure, logistics, road development, and cement manufacturing. Concluding his speech, Karan Adani thanked the state government for its continued support. He stated that the Adani Group is ready to pursue more projects in Telangana. However, his entire speech focused primarily on expanding ongoing projects and did not make any major new announcements.
