Rohit Sharma

Indian cricket team's "Hitman" Rohit Sharma has lost his number-one ranking in ODI cricket. He had reached the number-one spot in the ICC ODI batting rankings after scoring a half-century and a century during the Australia tour. However, the New Zealand batsman who usurped Rohit's position is just one point ahead of him. On Wednesday, the ICC released the latest ODI rankings, in which Rohit Sharma has moved up to number two.

Who replaced Rohit Sharma?

Rohit Sharma has now slipped to second place in the ICC ODI batting rankings. Rohit has 781 rating points. New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell has now become the world's No. 1 ODI batsman. He has 782 rating points, just one point more than Rohit. He was previously ranked third.

Century innings made him number 1

Daryl Mitchell scored a century in the first ODI against the West Indies, scoring 119 runs off 118 balls with the help of two sixes and 12 fours. This innings helped him surpass Rohit and become the number one batsman in the rankings.

Speaking of Rohit Sharma, he will have a chance to regain his supremacy by performing well in the series against South Africa. The three-match India vs. South Africa ODI series begins on November 30. Having retired from T20Is and Tests, Rohit now plays only ODIs.
