Axar and Miller's powerful innings helped Delhi chase down their second-highest target in IPL history.

PBKS vs DC: In Monday's match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala, Delhi completed the second-highest run chase. The previous record occurred in 2010 on this same Dharamsala pitch.

Delhi Capitals (DC) put up a superb performance to defeat Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 3 wickets in the 55th match of IPL 2026 on Monday . DC successfully completed the second-highest run chase in IPL history. DC achieved the target of 211 runs set by Punjab Kings in 19 overs for the loss of 7 wickets.
This was also the highest successful run chase ever at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala. Previously, in 2010, Chennai Super Kings had successfully chased a target of 193 against Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings). However, DC did not have a good start. Abhishek Porel made just 5 and KL Rahul made just 9 runs. Sahil Prakash also failed to make much of a mark with the bat, falling to Arshdeep Singh for 13. Tristan Stubbs also failed to make any significant impact, being run out for 12.
Delhi Capitals, struggling at 74 for 4, were steadied by captain Axar Patel and David Miller. The duo shared a 64-run partnership for the fifth wicket in 34 balls. Axar scored 56 runs off 30 balls, hitting 8 fours and 2 sixes. Miller contributed 51 runs off 28 balls, hitting 3 fours and 4 sixes. Ashutosh Sharma scored 24 runs off 10 balls, while Madhav Tiwari remained unbeaten on 18 runs off just 8 balls. Aqib Nabi remained unbeaten on 10 runs off 2 balls, hitting a six to give Delhi Capitals their fifth win of the season.
Earlier, Punjab Kings posted 210 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Priyansh Arya batted brilliantly for the team, scoring a brilliant 56 runs off 33 balls. Captain Shreyas Iyer also scored a half-century, remaining unbeaten on 59 off 36 balls, hitting 5 fours and 3 sixes. Cooper Connolly contributed 38 runs off 27 balls. Suryansh Shedge scored an unbeaten 21 runs off 8 balls in the final overs. Madhav Tiwari and Mitchell Starc took 2 wickets each for Delhi Capitals.
