Now Apple has found a solution to this problem. According to reports, the company is going to launch a new subscription-style leasing program. Under this program, customers will be able to lease iPhones and other Apple products without paying the full price. Once the lease period is over, they will be able to decide whether they want to buy the device or return it to Apple. This program will start in America.
How will the Apple Upgrade Plan work?
This new Apple program will begin on July 28th and replace the company's existing iPhone Upgrade Program and standard financing options. Customers will not have to pay EMIs under the new program, but rather, it will operate like a lease. Customers who purchase Apple products under this program will have to pay a fixed amount each month. When the lease expires, they will have the option to keep the device, return it to the company, or switch to a new device. If they lease a new device, they will have to sign a new contract. Apple has partnered with Klarna to finance the program. This program will be available at Apple's retail stores as well as its online store.
Will every Apple device be leased?
Not every Apple product will be included in this program. This means that many iPhones and other products will not be available for leasing. Entry-level products like the iPhone 16, entry-level iPad, Apple Watch SE, and MacBook Neo will be excluded from this program. Lease durations will also vary by product. iPhones and Apple Watches will have a 24-month lease period, while MacBooks and iPads will have a 36-month agreement. Unlike the current iPhone Upgrade Program, the new leasing service does not include AppleCare. Customers will have to pay for this separately.
Apple products have become more expensive a few days ago.
Apple is launching this plan at a time when it recently increased the prices of several of its products. Due to a shortage of storage and memory chips, the company has increased the prices of MacBooks and iPads by up to 100,000 rupees. There is also speculation that the iPhone 18 Pro models, scheduled to launch in September, will also be priced higher.
