India's men's and women's cricket teams will soon travel to Japan to participate in the Asian Games 2026. They will not be provided with 5-star hotels to stay there.

The 2026 Asian Games begin on September 19th, and the Indian cricket team will participate. Team India typically receives accommodation in five-star hotels when they travel for a tour or event. The Asian Games will be held in Japan. BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla stated that Indian players will have to accept whatever arrangements the organizers make for the Asian Games.
A 5-star hotel will not be available
Speaking at the send-off ceremony of the Indian contingent, Rajeev Shukla said, "The players will stay at whatever the organisers are providing. We are also keeping an eye on the facilities provided to the Indian players so that they do not face any problems. They are certainly not 5-star hotels, but good arrangements have been made for their stay."
The women's cricket matches at the Asian Games will begin on September 17th and will continue until September 22nd. The men's team will be in action from September 24th to October 3rd. The Indian women's team will face Japan in their quarterfinal match on September 18th. The Indian men's team will play its first match on September 28th.
Rajiv Shukla further said, "We have photos and videos of the arrangements made for our players. I think it's a good place. Our players will have to stay there, otherwise they would have to be accommodated in Osaka or Tokyo, which are very far from Nagoya."
Who arranged
Rajiv Shukla also stated that the Indian players will be given separate rooms and will not share them. Historically, two cricketers have shared a room. He added that the Asian Games Organizing Committee, the Indian Olympic Association, and the Japan Cricket Association have jointly arranged accommodation for the cricketers.
The Asian Cricket Council previously toured Japan. At that time, ACC officials had concerns about the dressing rooms, pitch, and field. The organizers made improvements, and the Asian Cricket Council is now satisfied with all arrangements.
