Scoring an ODI century away from home is one of the toughest challenges for any batter, particularly when conditions are very different from those in the subcontinent. For Asian cricketers, performances in South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia — collectively known as SENA countries — are therefore often closely watched.
Several legendary Asian batters have produced memorable ODI innings in these four countries, but Rohit Sharma holds a remarkable position when centuries and the number of innings taken to score them are compared.
According to the figures in this list, Rohit has scored 10 ODI hundreds in SENA countries from only 65 innings. Sri Lankan great Sanath Jayasuriya also has 10 centuries, but he reached that number after playing 100 innings.
Virat Kohli and Kumar Sangakkara are the other two batting giants featured among the leading Asian century-makers in these challenging overseas conditions.
