PM Modi Holds High-Level Meeting Amid Airstrikes on Pakistan, Focus on Uninterrupted Essential Supply

As India intensifies airstrikes under Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened a high-level meeting with the chief secretaries of 20 key departments to ensure uninterrupted essential supplies and national preparedness amid rising tensions with Pakistan.

The meeting, held at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), was aimed at strengthening emergency response systems, securing critical infrastructure, and maintaining internal coordination across ministries.

Focus on Supply Chain, Emergency Readiness

PM Modi instructed all top officials to remain on 24/7 high alert and to proactively manage their respective departments without waiting for direct orders. The government has stressed continuity in the supply of essential goods such as food, medicines, energy, and communication services.

"Ensure the system remains unaffected. We must be ahead of the curve in emergency preparedness," the PM reportedly told the secretaries.

Secretaries from key ministries—Atomic Energy, Space, Electronics & IT, Roads, Railways, Shipping, Power, Consumer Affairs, and Border Management—attended the meeting.

Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Protection

In view of growing threats, Modi also directed ministries to review vulnerabilities and protect critical infrastructure from cyberattacks or sabotage. Departments have been asked to secure ports, railway bridges, energy grids, and telecom systems—particularly those on the western front.

The PMO emphasized "tremendous coordination between ministries and agencies is necessary to ensure national resilience."

Government Monitoring Prices, Curbing Panic Buying

According to a Times of India report, ministries have been told to monitor commodity prices and prevent panic buying. Authorities are also working to control the spread of misinformation that could lead to public unrest.

The government assured that the prices of pulses, grains, and edible oils are stable and supply chains remain under control. Ports on the West Coast have seen enhanced security deployment, and key electrical systems are being closely monitored to ensure the uninterrupted movement of goods and people.

Marathon Strategy Meetings Post PM Review

Following the meeting with the Prime Minister, several top-level strategy sessions have taken place to plan next steps. Officials are also preparing communication protocols and response mechanisms in case of any escalation.

This high-level review comes just days after India's precision strikes on terrorist hideouts in Pakistan, signaling the government’s dual focus on military readiness and internal stability.
