India Next Real Estate Summit 2026: After the construction of the Ram Temple, Ayodhya is emerging as the hottest investment destination in the country. Many prominent celebrities are investing heavily in the real estate market here.

Whom did Amitabh Bachchan call to get land in Ayodhya?
Amitabh Bachchan: Not only has the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya increased tourism, but infrastructure development has also improved the city's economy. From Bollywood's leading actors to prominent industrialists, many have made significant investments in Ayodhya. Amitabh Bachchan is one of them. He has emerged as one of the largest investors in Ayodhya's real estate market. Following the construction of the Ram Temple, he has purchased large tracts of land in Ayodhya.
Abhinandan Lodha, Founder and CMD of The House of Abhinandan Lodha, revealed many such facts at the Hindustan Times India Next Real Estate Summit 2026. He shared several interesting anecdotes, highlighting Ayodhya's growing popularity as a real estate investment destination. He also recounted how Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan personally called him and expressed his desire to acquire land in Ayodhya.
Big B called late at night
Abhinandan Lodha said that in 2023, he was in Australia. One day, he received a call at 3 a.m. He said he had previously received a few missed calls and a message that read, "This is Amitabh Bachchan. Please call me back when you're comfortable."
After this message, when Abhinandan called Big B, he said, "Abhinandan ji, I'm from UP and I want to buy land in Ayodhya." The actor first asked him the price of the land, to which Abhinandan replied that the 15,000 square feet of land was worth 15 crore rupees. Amitabh Bachchan sent him the 15 crore rupees the very next day, and the deal was finalized.
The growing popularity of Ayodhya
Lodha said that the growth of cultural tourism around temple cities in India is making them preferred destinations for senior living communities. This could present a major opportunity for infrastructure growth. He pointed out that while Vatican City receives approximately 10 million visitors annually, Ayodhya receives approximately 250 million visitors.
It's obvious that if such a large number of people come to a place, it will accelerate economic development. Locals will have the opportunity to sell their land at higher prices, leading to a boom in real estate. It's worth noting that celebrities who have invested in Ayodhya include Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor and renowned filmmaker Anand Pandit.
