Former Indian cricketer and Bollywood actor Yograj Singh often makes headlines due to his statements and something similar has happened this time too. Yograj has said that if Sachin Tendulkar's son Arjun Tendulkar comes under the coaching of Yuvraj, he can become the next Chris Gayle. Arjun is currently part of the Mumbai Indians team in the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025), who was bought by the franchise for Rs 30 lakh in the mega auction.
However, the all-rounder has not got a chance in the playing XI yet this season, but Arjun may get a chance to play some matches before the playoffs. Yograj Singh has also trained Arjun earlier and he had asked Arjun to focus more on his batting. He also said that if Sachin asks Yuvraj to train him, then Arjun has the potential to become the next Chris Gayle.
Speaking to CricketNext, Yograj said, "I told Arjun that he should focus less on bowling and more on batting. Yuvraj and Sachin are so close and if Yuvraj takes Sachin's son under his tutelage for three months, I am sure he will become the next Chris Gayle. It often happens that if a fast bowler goes through a stress fracture, he is not able to bowl effectively. I think Arjun should be handed over to Yuvraj for some time."
Earlier, Yograj revealed that Arjun stopped training under him as he feared the youngster's name would be linked with his. Meanwhile, Arjun was not in the best form in the recent domestic season as he scored 40 runs in two innings in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25. With the ball, he has taken four wickets in three matches. In the Ranji Trophy, he scored 51 runs in three innings at an average of 17. However, he also performed well with the ball and took 16 wickets in four matches at an average of 18.18, including one five-wicket haul. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024-25, he scored just 21 runs in two matches and took one wicket.
