Petrol-Diesel rates remained unchanged today.

Amid the ongoing turmoil in the global oil market, petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged today. On September 15, 2026, state-owned oil companies (OMCs) maintained retail prices stable. Despite the significant fluctuations in international crude oil prices, the absence of any change in petrol and diesel prices in the country is a relief for consumers.

Global oil supply crisis

The global oil market is currently facing a major crisis. The Strait of Hormuz is already virtually closed due to the war between the US and Iran. The Red Sea route is also under pressure from Yemen's Houthi rebels, who are targeting Saudi tankers at Bab al-Mandeb.

To address these challenges, Saudi Arabia relied on the 1,200-kilometer-long East-West Pipeline, but recent Iraqi drone attacks damaged this pipeline. The closure of the East-West Pipeline has left Saudi Arabia with only 5 to 7 days of export reserves at the Red Sea port of Yanbu. Sources indicate that repairing the pipeline could take 5 to 6 weeks.
