Social media has left a deep impact on people's lives today. In simple words, people have become addicted to it. Now, research has come out regarding this. Let's know about it.

A study has found that the negative impact of social media is more visible on daughters than on sons. This research was conducted under the National Child Protection Unit, in which about 18 lakh 57 thousand children were included. According to this study, the tendency of distrust, apprehension, and negative behavior is increasing among daughters, which is a matter of concern for their mental health.
Negative Behaviors and Mental Health in Daughters
The study revealed that there has been a negative change in the behavior of about 45 percent of girls. Due to spending more time on social media, girls have been found to have more problems with lack of confidence, anxiety, and stress. On the contrary, compared to boys, daughters get emotionally attached to more strangers, which affects their mental state.
Effects on studies and social interactions
The report also said that girls spend many hours on social media, which affects their studies and other important activities. They become emotionally weak and social interaction becomes limited. Whereas boys use social media less, so its negative impact is less visible on them.
Increased feelings of anxiety, stress, and mistrust
Girls spend more time on social media and take things there more seriously. This increases the feeling of anxiety, stress and distrust in them. Girls share their problems but do not get the right advice or solution, which further deteriorates their mental health.
The effect of social media on thinking and behavior
According to the study, social media affects the thinking and behavior of daughters. They get disappointed quickly and start comparing themselves with others. This reduces their self-esteem, and they can become socially isolated. Apart from this, misinformation and fake news on social media also affect their thinking. To deal with this problem, it is important that parents and teachers keep an eye on the social media use of children, especially girls. They should be explained how to use social media in a limited and correct way. Apart from this, it is also important to make children aware of mental health and involve them in positive activities.
