Kumari Selja targets the Uttarakhand government

Uttarakhand Congress in-charge Kumari Selja held a press conference in Dehradun, sharply targeting the Modi government at the center and the Dhami government in the state. She targeted the government on issues such as the Ankita Bhandari murder case, the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists, corruption, unemployment, paper leaks, and migration, and also outlined Congress's upcoming movements and protests. She announced that Congress will launch a Nyay Yatra starting October 22nd.

Referring to the Ankita Bhandari murder case, Kumari Selja said that the names of ruling party leaders have surfaced in the case and the audio recordings have gone viral, but questions remain about the questioning and investigation of the relevant leaders. She also objected to the appointment of Dushyant Gautam as Governor of Sikkim.

'Congress's movement to get justice for Ankita will continue'

He said that this has hurt the sentiments of the people of Uttarakhand. He expressed concern that his appointment as Governor could hamper the investigation. He stated that the Congress movement to secure justice for Ankita will continue. The Congress also announced a candlelight vigil in Dehradun this evening.

Election Commission targeted over SIR

The Congress leader questioned the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists, alleging that the Election Commission's functioning was undermining democracy. He blamed the central government for this. Referring to the police action during protests in Delhi, he said that all political parties should have the right to express their views democratically.

Demand for investigation in Rekha Arya case

Regarding the issue involving Cabinet Minister Rekha Arya, Kumari Selja said that the matter should be investigated impartially. Citing allegations made by the minister's husband, she demanded an investigation into alleged corruption related to mid-day meals, the National Games, and rations. She also questioned the impartiality of the state police's Special Investigation Team (SIT).

Government cornered on land scam, unemployment and migration

Regarding the theft of offerings at Badrinath, she said the public should be given an accounting of the money donated by devotees. She promised that if a Congress government is formed, these cases will be investigated.
