Apple's first foldable iPhone Duo has sold out of initial stock as soon as pre-bookings began. Delivery has now been pushed back to January 2027 in some markets. Learn about its price and the reason for the delay.
Apple iPhone Duo pre-booking
There was tremendous enthusiasm among people to buy Apple's first foldable iPhone Duo. Initial stock of the phone was exhausted as soon as pre-booking started, and now users who ordered it may have to wait a long time for delivery. In some markets, the delivery date of the phone has reached January 2027, although Apple has not yet disclosed the number of phones made available for sale in the first phase of pre-booking. Therefore, it is not clear whether the early stock depletion was due to high user demand or the company initially making fewer phones available for sale.
Initial stock runs out as soon as pre-bookings begin
Pre-bookings for the iPhone Duo began on October 16th. Initial stock sold out quickly in many markets, including the US. Following this, estimated delivery dates began to be pushed back. In the US, delivery dates for some configurations have been pushed from November to January 2027. In China, Apple's official website also showed a January 2027 delivery date, while e-commerce platforms reported all phone models were out of stock.
Is the wait time due to high demand?
The delay in iPhone Duo deliveries could be due to its new foldable design, which is taking the company longer to develop. Furthermore, there's a possibility that fewer phones will be available for sale initially, although Apple hasn't yet disclosed how many were on sale in the first phase. Therefore, it's unclear whether the delay is due to high demand or a short supply.
How much does the iPhone Duo cost?
Apple's first foldable phone has been introduced in the premium segment. In India, the base model with 256GB of storage is priced at ₹299,900. The top model with 2TB of storage will cost ₹449,900. The phone is available in Star White and Night Sky color options. Sales are scheduled to begin on October 23rd.
