Jairam Yadav has targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for the major irregularities in the Census 2027 process. He has also commented on the RSS regarding this.
Jairam Ramesh spoke about PM Modi and Amit Shah
The Congress party on Saturday (October 17) attacked the Modi government, alleging irregularities and conspiracy in the ongoing nationwide Census 2027 process. Rajya Sabha MP Jairam Ramesh said the government has now expanded the list of eligible enumerators for Census 2027 and there is a larger conspiracy behind it.
He targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah , alleging that the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister's pairing has no limits to their morally nefarious plots. He also criticized the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for its role in the 2027 Census process.
RSS had organised a training camp on the agenda of Census 2027 – Jairam
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh shared a post on the social media platform X regarding this, saying, "The Modi government has now expanded the list of eligible enumerators for Census 2027. There is a huge conspiracy behind this. From July 10 to 12, 2026, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) organized a large training camp for its workers in Belgaum with the sole agenda of Census 2027."
He said, "A high-level committee on demographic changes, formed by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on May 26, 2026, has sought information from various stakeholders, including the public, Indian and foreign organizations, regarding demographic changes in the country. The only high-level aspect of this committee is that its members have connections to the RSS ecosystem. Therefore, we know where this information will come from."
This process is an employment guarantee scheme for RSS - BJP workers - Jairam
Jairam Ramesh said, 'The census notification issued on October 16, 2026, should be seen in the context of the RSS training camp on July 10-12 and the information sought by the Committee on Demographic Changes on October 14.'
He said, "It's clear that this is an employment guarantee scheme for thousands of RSS and BJP workers. This is likely to further compromise the already compromised objectivity of the census. Another institution is being destroyed. Like the SIR , census data will also be dangerously manipulated. Such unethical machinations by the Prime Minister-Home Minister duo know no bounds."
