The first results of the Apple-Google partnership could be seen soon. Apple is expected to introduce Gemini-powered Siri in February.

The wait for a new version of Siri has been long overdue. Apple announced that it would update Siri with new features in 2024, but no progress has been made so far. Now, reports are emerging that Apple users may see a new version of Siri next month. If these reports prove accurate, the wait for iPhone and other Apple devices will soon be over.
Siri will get a dose of Gemini.
A few days ago, Apple and Google announced a major partnership. Under this, Apple will use Google's Gemini AI model for its devices. The first results of this partnership could be seen next month, when the launch of Gemini-powered Siri is expected. Apple journalist Mark Gurman says that a major announcement regarding the personalized version of Siri could be made in the second half of February. It is expected that the new Siri will be unveiled in February and will be part of iOS 26.4, which will be rolled out to users in March-April.
Which users will benefit?
Based on the timeline, it's estimated that Apple users will receive a new Siri within the next two to three months. It will be available for all iPhones launched after the iPhone 15 Pro models. According to Apple's preview, the new version of the digital assistant will be able to access personal data and complete tasks by viewing the content on the screen.
Apple wants to make Siri a powerful chatbot.
After lagging behind Google and OpenAI in the AI race, Apple is now looking to make Siri an AI chatbot. The new Siri will have many features like web searching, content creation, image generation, summarizing information, and analyzing uploaded files. Apple wants to directly compete with Gemini and ChatGPT with this. This Siri will be embedded in iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27. Instead of launching as a standalone app, it will be integrated into Apple's core apps, so that users will be able to do tasks like editing photos, drafting emails, and searching for any message or files just by giving voice commands.
