Who will replace Harshit Rana at KKR? Coach Abhishek Nayar made a big revelation about the replacement.

Harshit Rana Replacement KKR Squad: Harshit Rana has been ruled out of IPL 2026. Kolkata Knight Riders head coach Abhishek Nayar has given a big update on his replacement.

Kolkata Knight Riders have suffered a major setback with Harshit Rana's exclusion from IPL 2026. His absence stems from a knee injury he sustained during a warm-up match for the T20 World Cup 2026. Harshit has undergone surgery and is currently recovering. Meanwhile, the KKR management is understandably worried, as the team has yet to find a replacement.

It is not easy to replace Harshit

Kolkata Knight Riders head coach Abhishek Nayar provided an update on Harshit Rana's replacement at the pre-season press conference, stating that his injury is a significant blow to the team, given his impressive performances over the past two seasons. Nayar stated that Harshit has improved significantly as a cricketer over the past year. Abhishek Nayar also acknowledged that replacing Harshit Rana will not be easy.

Regarding Harshit's replacement, Harshit Rana said, "In the last few days, we have seen many bowlers who can fit well into this role. Perhaps we can take a final decision in the next few days."

Kolkata Knight Riders' problems appear to be compounded by the fact that Mathisha Pathirana has not yet received clearance to play. However, the good news is that captain Ajinkya Rahane is showing confidence in his players and is brimming with confidence. Varun Chakravarthy had a poor T20 World Cup 2026 in terms of economy rate, but Rahane is confident that Chakravarthy will perform well.

The Kolkata Knight Riders have won the IPL three times so far. Under Shreyas Iyer's captaincy, Kolkata won the trophy in 2012, 2014, and 2024. KKR had a disappointing performance in IPL 2025, finishing eighth in the table.
