We have friends; we have family... so why do we feel lonely around people? Find out

People often feel lonely even among friends and family, a condition known as "chronic loneliness." Here's a look at the causes of loneliness and ways to cope...

You may have often noticed that despite our busy lives, surrounded by hundreds of friends on social media and a full family at home, we sometimes feel completely alone and depressed. This is a condition also known as chronic loneliness or emotional loneliness. We should understand

Why do we feel lonely even among our loved ones?

The feeling of loneliness in a crowd doesn't come suddenly. Sometimes, there are many people around us, but our relationships with them are limited to just a greeting. In such situations, we can't share our fears or joys with them.

Sometimes we feel that family or friends won't understand our mental state or thoughts and will make fun of us, yet we still manage to contain ourselves. It's worth noting that some people, seeing the perfect lives of others on the internet, start comparing themselves to them. This digital connection distances us from real-life relationships. We become lost in our own world and are unaware of what's happening around us.

How to deal with this loneliness?

  • It's important to remember that simply sitting in a room with your loved ones isn't enough. It's also crucial to put your phone aside and have a heart-to-heart conversation with them.
  • Don't hide your weaknesses and sadness, but talk to a trusted person who can listen to you without judging you.
  • Beyond this, understand the difference between loneliness and solitude. Engage in hobbies like reading, listening to music, or gardening, so you can find joy in being alone.
