Three health checkups a year can reduce hospital costs, reveals report.

A new report by CII and MediBuddy claims that employees who undergo health checkups thrice a year have a lower risk of hospitalisation.

Nowadays, work pressure, unhealthy eating habits, and stress are adversely affecting people's health. Cases of heart disease, diabetes, and mental stress are rising rapidly, especially among office workers. A recent report by CII and the digital health platform MediBuddy found that employees who get three health checkups a year are significantly less likely to require hospitalization than others.

If you work, don't neglect your health. Schedule health checkups, understand your reports, and consult a doctor if needed. This is crucial. Small, healthy habits can help prevent major illnesses in the future.

Not only testing, but treatment is also necessary after that.

According to the report, many people get health checkups, but don't consult a doctor after receiving the results. More than half of employees don't take any action after the checkup. This leaves the risk of illness and prevents timely treatment. Therefore, getting tested alone isn't enough; proper treatment and regular care are also essential.

Heart disease and diabetes are on the rise.

It has also been revealed that heart-related diseases are rapidly increasing among office workers. Heart attacks and other heart problems are being seen even in younger people. Diabetes cases are also on the rise. Long hours of sitting, stress, lack of sleep, and poor diet are considered major causes.

Different challenges for employees of all ages

The report shows that health concerns vary across different age groups. Anxiety and stress are more prevalent among younger workers, while work pressure, fatigue, and lifestyle-related illnesses are increasing among those in their 30s and 40s. Older workers are at higher risk for chronic diseases.

Companies will also have to change their thinking.

According to the report, most companies are still working on employee health at a rudimentary level. Doctors say that companies should not limit themselves to health checkups. Employees should also receive periodic medical advice, follow-up, and necessary support.
