Supply crunch and rising prices... Inflation threatens vendors' livelihoods, and customers turn away.

LPG Shortage: The rise in commercial LPG prices is affecting everyone from large restaurants to small vendors. Let's find out what Delhi's small food vendors have to say about this.

Street vendors are short of customers.

Commercial LPG Price Hike: Due to the ongoing tensions between the US and Iran, oil and LPG prices are steadily rising. Recently, the price of commercial LPG cylinders has seen a rise, causing problems for everyone from the hotel industry to street vendors, especially those who rely entirely on gas for cooking. The rising cost of LPG is making it difficult for people to run their businesses.

What did Delhi's street vendors say?

Following the increase in commercial LPG prices, The Times of India spoke with several Delhi street vendors, who reported that purchasing gas was becoming increasingly difficult and that they were facing a shortage of customers. As a result, many were forced to shut down their businesses, while others were forced to rely on domestic cylinders and fireplaces.

One vendor said he closed his stall two weeks ago due to a lack of commercial cylinders and is now forced to run his business on coal. He says this is also affecting his health.

While inflation has created difficulties for vendors, customers are also turning away

from them. Many vendors, whose entire families depend on them, are facing significant hardship. Inflation is also putting a strain on the common man's pockets, leading them to avoid eating out.

It should be noted that recently, on Friday, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder increased by ₹993, bringing its price to ₹3071.5 in Delhi. The price of a 5-kg LPG cylinder also increased by ₹261, bringing its price to ₹810.5.
