Sai Sudarshan scored a century in the first Test match against Sri Lanka. He achieved this feat while playing for India A. The first unofficial Test match between India A and Sri Lanka A is being played in Galle. Sai Sudarshan scored a century for Team India, who won the toss and elected to bat first, but prominent batsmen like Devdutt Padikkal and Ruturaj Gaikwad failed.

Sai Sudarshan's century

Sai Sudarshan opened the innings for India with Ayush Pandey. Ayush scored 25 runs, and together with Sai Sudarshan added 82 runs for the first wicket. Sudarshan shared a half-century partnership with Ayush Pandey and Ruturaj Gaikwad, finishing with 132 runs.

Sudarshan played his last Test match for Team India against Afghanistan, which India won by an innings and 300 runs. Sudarshan scored 81 runs in that match. He continued his good form against Sri Lanka A, scoring a century in 130 balls.

Padikkal and Gaikwad flop

Sai Sudarshan held one end firmly, but wickets continued to fall at the other end. Devdutt Padikkal started his innings with a bang, hitting a four and a six, but was dismissed for just 12 runs off 7 balls. Meanwhile, Ruturaj Gaikwad, who scored a century in the recently concluded tri-series, managed only 22 runs in the red-ball match.

This unofficial Test series between India A and Sri Lanka A will consist of two matches. The first match began on June 25th, and the second will be played on the same ground on July 2nd. Dhruv Jurel is captaining the Indian team in this series.
