Sahibzada Farhan scores a historic century, Pakistan's highest score; will they reach the semi-finals?

Pakistan vs Sri Lanka: Pakistan has scored 212 runs in 20 overs, but to reach the semi-finals, it will have to restrict Sri Lanka to under 150 runs.

Pakistan set a target of 213 runs for Sri Lanka.

Batting first against Sri Lanka, Pakistan posted a score of 212 runs. This is Pakistan's highest total in T20 World Cup history. Sahibzada Farhan scored 100 runs in 60 balls for Pakistan. This was his second century in the 2026 T20 World Cup. Now, to reach the semi-finals, Pakistan must restrict Sri Lanka to 147 runs. If Sri Lanka scores more than this, even if Pakistan wins the match, it will not be able to reach the semi-finals.

Sahibzada Farhan created history.

Sahibzada Farhan, who scored 100 runs in 60 balls, has created history. He has become the first batsman in the world to score two centuries in a single edition of the T20 World Cup. He also holds the record for the most runs scored in a single T20 World Cup. Farhan's total in this World Cup has reached 283 runs. In addition to Farhan, Fakhar Zaman also scored 84 runs in 42 balls. The two shared an opening partnership of 176 runs, the highest for any wicket in T20 World Cup history. Farhan hit 9 fours and 5 sixes, while Fakhar Zaman hit 9 fours and 4 sixes.

If this happens, then Pakistan will be out, and New Zealand will go to the semi-finals.

If Pakistan fails to restrict Sri Lanka to 147 runs, New Zealand will qualify for the semi-finals, even if Pakistan wins this match. Pakistan needs not just a win, but a win by at least 65 runs. Currently, New Zealand's net run rate is significantly better than Pakistan's.
