Raksha Bandhan is all about celebrating the unique bond between brothers and sisters, and Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon's children Rasha Thadani and Ranbirvardhan Thadani marked the festival with their own special celebration. Rasha tied a Rakhi on her younger brother's wrist and opened up about how their relationship has evolved over the years.

Like most siblings, Rasha and Ranbirvardhan share their fair share of teasing and arguments, but beneath it all is a strong emotional connection. Speaking about Raksha Bandhan, Rasha explained that her understanding of the festival has changed as she has grown older.

What once seemed like another occasion for the family to come together now represents something much deeper to her—the promise that siblings will continue supporting and protecting each other throughout their lives.

Rasha Thadani Reveals What Raksha Bandhan Means to Her

Rasha said that as a child, Raksha Bandhan primarily meant spending time with family and enjoying the celebrations.

Today, however, she understands the significance of the relationship differently.

For her, Raksha Bandhan represents the assurance that she and Ranbirvardhan will always be there for each other, regardless of where life takes them.

Rasha also revealed that her mother, actress Raveena Tandon, instilled a sense of responsibility in her towards her younger brother from an early age.

According to Rasha, Raveena told Ranbirvardhan that whenever she wasn't around, Rasha would be both his sister and a mother-like figure for him.

That message appears to have had a lasting impact on their relationship.

Ranbirvardhan Says Rasha Is Always Protective of Him

Ranbirvardhan also spoke warmly about his elder sister and revealed that Rasha constantly worries about him.

According to him, she tries to take care of him whenever he faces a problem and is often looking for ways to help him find a solution.

He described his sister as someone who protects him—an interesting reversal of the conventional Raksha Bandhan idea in which the brother is traditionally seen as the sister's protector.

Ranbirvardhan also revealed a funny Rakhi tradition between the two.

He said he has started touching Rasha's feet on Raksha Bandhan as a playful way of teasing her about getting older.

While touching an elder's feet is traditionally associated with respect in Indian culture, Ranbirvardhan jokingly uses the gesture to remind his sister that she is now the older one.

Rasha Is Proud of Her Brother for Studying Abroad

The siblings currently spend considerable time apart because Ranbirvardhan is studying in London.

Rasha admitted that she is extremely proud of her younger brother for managing life abroad independently.

She explained that living alone in another country without having family around every day requires considerable strength. Rasha feels she herself would find such a situation difficult because she values emotional support and likes having her family close.

Her younger brother, she believes, has developed the independence to manage things on his own.

Rasha also revealed another side of Ranbirvardhan's personality. According to her, he can become emotional while leaving home, although he generally doesn't show those emotions openly.

Ranbirvardhan Returns Home for Raksha Bandhan

This year's celebration became even more special because Ranbirvardhan returned home during his summer vacation.

Naturally, that gave Rasha an opportunity to celebrate Raksha Bandhan with her brother in person instead of from a distance.

But no Raksha Bandhan celebration is complete without the question every brother eventually faces: What are you giving your sister?

Ranbirvardhan apparently hasn't completely decided yet.

When asked about Rasha's Rakhi gift, he said he would need to think carefully about what she genuinely wants.

He then joked that perhaps the perfect present would be another dog, despite the family reportedly already having seven.

Considering Rasha's love for dogs, he believes that might actually make her happy.

Rasha Credits Raveena Tandon for Giving Them a Normal Childhood

Being the children of a famous Bollywood star inevitably brings public attention, but Rasha believes her mother made a conscious effort to protect both children from excessive exposure while they were growing up.

She credits Raveena Tandon with shielding them from many of the pressures that can accompany growing up in the spotlight.

Rasha recalled that she and Ranbirvardhan were fortunate to have relatively normal school lives. According to her, celebrity children may receive much more attention and photography around schools today, but that wasn't something they regularly experienced during their own school years.

This allowed them to grow up without constantly being identified primarily through their mother's celebrity status.

A Sibling Bond Built on Mutual Protection

Rasha and Ranbirvardhan's Raksha Bandhan story also reflects how the meaning of the festival has evolved for many modern siblings.

Instead of viewing protection as something only a brother promises his sister, their relationship is built around protecting and supporting each other.

Ranbirvardhan says Rasha looks after him and tries to solve his problems, while Rasha admires her younger brother's independence and strength.

Distance may separate them while Ranbirvardhan studies in London, but their Raksha Bandhan message remains simple: wherever they are, they intend to always be there for each other.
