While millions of farmers across the country are eagerly awaiting the 22nd installment of the PM Kisan Yojana, people in several districts of Uttar Pradesh have suddenly started receiving Rs 1 lakh in their bank accounts. It's important to note that this money is not from the PM Kisan Yojana, but rather from another important central government scheme, the 'Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban' (PMAY-U). The government has released a new list for the housing scheme for the year 2026, and financial assistance is being provided to beneficiaries based on this list.
First Installment Received by Millions of Beneficiaries
The first installment has started arriving in the accounts of those selected under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban 2.0. Recently, on January 18, 2026, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath digitally transferred Rs 1 lakh each to the accounts of approximately 2 lakh beneficiaries during a large event in Lucknow. Under this scheme, the government is directly distributing a total grant of Rs 2,000 crore to the public. If you have also applied for this scheme, your installment may have already been credited to your bank account or will be soon.
Installment Calculation and Payment Process
Under the BLC (Beneficiary Led Construction) category of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the money is primarily disbursed in three installments. The rule is straightforward: the first and second installments each constitute 40 percent of the total amount, while the final 20 percent is given in the third installment, closer to the completion of the work. This time, beneficiaries are receiving a substantial first installment of Rs 1 lakh directly so that they can begin constructing their dream homes without any delay.
How to Check Your Name and Payment Status in the List?
If you want to check your name in the PM Awas Yojana (Urban) list or check when the money will be released, follow the steps below:
Go to the official website of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana: pmaymis.gov.in. Select the 'Search Beneficiary' option given above.
Now click on the 'Beneficiary-Wise Fund Release' option.
Enter your registered mobile number and send the OTP.
After this, you will see complete information about the funds released by the Central, State, and Local Governments.
When will the next installment of PM Kisan be released?
As far as the PM Kisan scheme is concerned, farmers will have to wait for the Union Budget 2026 for the 22nd installment. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the country's general budget on February 1st. This budget will allocate the budget for the PM Kisan scheme for the next financial year, only after which the date for the next installment of Rs. 2,000 will be clear.
