WhatsApp Organizations feature

Nowadays, many groups are created on WhatsApp for school, college, office, and various organization-related purposes. When there are multiple groups within a single community, each with different members, it can be difficult for the administrator to keep all the information together. To alleviate this problem, WhatsApp is working on a new feature called Organizations. This will allow administrators managing large communities to access information about members and their associated subgroups in one place. Currently, this feature is in the early stages of development, and the company has not announced an official launch date.

What is WhatsApp's Organizations feature?

WhatsApp introduced the Communities feature in 2022. Its purpose was to bring together multiple groups related to a single topic or organization. For example, groups from different classes in a school or groups from different teams in a company could be grouped into one community. Now, with the Organizations feature, the company is preparing to simplify community management. This new feature will be especially useful for administrators who manage multiple groups and a large number of members.

Information about members and subgroups will be available in one place.

According to the report, hints of this feature have been found in WhatsApp's Android beta version 2.26.43.1. A screenshot of the feature has also been shared in the report. This feature is expected to have a separate interface for admins. The organization's name, description, and total number of members will be displayed here. Furthermore, by tapping the "View all" option, admins will be able to see a list of all members, as well as information about which subgroups a member belongs to.

How will the work be easier for the admin?

Currently, large WhatsApp communities may require admins to check individual groups to gather member information. The Organizations feature could simplify this process by providing the necessary information in one place. This feature would serve as an additional management layer on top of existing communities.

When will the Organizations feature be launched?

According to the report, WhatsApp Organizations is still in its early development stages and not yet available to beta testers. The company hasn't announced a launch date. Whether this feature will be available for iPhone users is also unclear. WhatsApp is also working on a scheduled message feature for Android users. This would allow users to prepare messages in advance and send them at a scheduled time. However, an official announcement regarding the availability of this feature is still awaited.
