Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded to the motion of thanks on President Draupadi Murmu's address in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday (February 5, 2026). During the speech, the Prime Minister sharply criticized the Congress party's policies. Opposition members walked out of the House during the Prime Minister's speech. Following the adjournment of the Rajya Sabha, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, said that PM Modi is scared.

Congress's prince insulted Sikhs: PM Modi

He said, "Yesterday, the prince of Congress called an MP of this House a traitor. Imagine, his arrogance has reached the seventh sky. He (Rahul Gandhi) called Ravneet Bittu a traitor because he was a Sikh. This was an insult to Sikhs, an insult to the Gurus. This was an expression of the deep hatred that exists within the Congress party towards Sikhs." He said that the Congress party harbors a deep hatred for the people of Assam.

Congress has to dig Modi's grave: PM. 

The Prime Minister said, "Congress never promoted the startup culture. Their condition is such that they are unable to even fix their own startups.
