Root has had the pleasure of scoring a century in Australia after waiting 30 innings. Before him, Ian Healy (41 innings), Bob Simpson (36 innings), Gordon Greenidge (32 innings), and Steve Waugh also had to wait 32 innings to score their first century in Australia.
